MAC MAIL GMAIL HIDE ARCHIVE FOLDER ARCHIVE
If you want to hide emails, rather than delete them, you can archive the messages instead. I want a mailbox created that shows only my Archived emails, similar to looking through emails in the trash (if they weren't deleted after 30 days by gmail). Mail will create its own Trash folder that is stored locally on your Mac, but in Gmail on the Web, messages will be archived and searchable. In the image you can see that the mail folders in my On My Mac section are currently displayed. This one is easy: Go to Outlook menu, Preferences, General and tick Hide On My Computers. Im using Mail.app as my email client, and I had the same desire to have my mail categorized with Gmail’s bayesian-or-whatever classifiers, so I found a fix.
Can someone please tell me how to create an Archived mailbox / show only Archived emails in Apple Mail? Unfortunately, Gmail doesn’t expose its Categories to IMAP.
